Start Smart for Farr Students
 Start Smart is an initiative designed to assist deserving, underprivileged children prepare for the upcoming school year. By providing these students with school clothes and school supplies the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation hopes to enhance the self-esteem of the participating students, get them excited about the new school year, and encourage them to focus on a good education. This initiative is being underwritten by Phil and Amy Mickelson.
This was the sixth annual Start Smart event. This year 1,500 children from 7 districts participated. The event was coordinated through the San Diego County Office of Education. At the conclusion of the 2010 event over 8,000 children will have participated in Start Smart. More... |
